Disclosed in the present invention is a machining method for a drum with multi-layer winding rope grooves comprises: using a steel plate to roll the drum body(1), welding seamlessly at the butt joint of the steel plate; welding an initial flange at the two ends of the drum body(1) respectively; processing all of the grooves(11) as well as climbing steps and bosses(21) integrally at one time by machining, wherein the remaining part of the initial flange becomes a first flange(2'); welding a second flange(3) on the outer edge of the first flange(2'); welding a ribbed plate(4) on the outside of the entire flange. Furthermore, also disclosed in the present invention are the drum with multi-layer winding rope grooves and a crane comprising the same. The problems of tangling of the wire ropes and insufficiency of the connection strength between the multi-layer drum body and the flange are effectively solved, and thereby the service life of the wire ropes is prolonged.
