Disclosed are a selection method and device for a video source of a sub-picture of a multi-picture in a multimedia conference. The method comprises: a multi-point control unit detecting whether the state of a video source of each sub-picture of a multi-picture is abnormal; and the multi-point control unit selecting a video source in a normal state as the video source of the sub-picture corresponding to the video source in an abnormal state. The invention solves the problem that the video input fault of a terminal or unavailable video input affects the conference quality of the video conference in the related art, and achieves the effect of normal image display of all the sub-pictures of the multi-picture.
