This mechanism can be applied to a musical percussion instrument, generally known as a cajon, the instrument being suitable for any type of musical genre or style, and especially for Flamenco, Afro-Peruvian, Caribbean music, and all ethnic music. The cajon is made in the shape of a box, consisting of laminar sides, and features at least one opening for the communication of the inner space of the instrument with the exterior, and also a framework for the fastening of the playing surface (2) to the body of the instrument (1). The framework comprises four supports (10), one placed near the edge of each of the internal faces, with each support (10) being formed from one fixed block, each block being fitted with extractable and threaded metallic elements (11), allowing for the placement of passing bolts (7) for fastening the playing surface (2) to the body of the instrument (1), and also allowing for each one of the threaded elements (11) to be replaced.
