The invention relates to a method to reduce the width of cracks that may be induced in masonry. The method comprises the step of reinforcing at least one joint with reinforcement strips. The reinforcement wires are provided with ribs.;The invention furthermore relates to reinforcement strips and to masonry reinforced with such reinforcement strips.
