This method for manufacturing a container containing a content liquid has: a formation step, wherein a bottomed tubular preform (1) that has been heated to a temperature at which elongation is possible is elongated by the fluid pressure of a content liquid introduced into the opening (2) of the preform, thus forming a container (10); a sealing step, wherein a cap (16) is attached to the opening to seal the contents therein; and a pressurization step, wherein the internal pressure of the container is increased. An inverting-deformation part (15) which is capable of inverse deformation toward the inside of the container is formed in the container. In the pressurization step, subsequent to the sealing step and before the temperature of the container falls to room temperature, the inverting-deformation part is made to undergo inverse deformation toward the inside of the container, thereby reducing the capacity of the container and increasing the internal pressure of the container. By means of the present invention it is possible to prevent contracting deformation of the container associated with the passage of time after the sealing step.
