PURPOSE: A mining ship and an operational method thereof are provided to shorten mineral transportation schedule by minimizing the stop time of a mineral lifting work.;CONSTITUTION: A mineral ship comprises a ship body(1), a mining device, a mineral lifting device(4), a detachable cargo hold(9), and a mooring device(8). The mining device mines minerals on the seabed under a ship. The mineral lifting device lifts up the mined minerals to the ship. The detachable cargo hold stores the minerals lifted by the mineral lifting device. The mooring device moors the detachable cargo hold to the ship and is positioned in a stern or a stem of the ship.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
