ADVANCED DRINKING WATER TREATMENT USING TWO STAGE BIOFILTER

PURPOSE: An advanced drinking water treatment apparatus using a two-step biofilm filtering bath is provided to prevent the generation of trihalomethane and to effectively remove organic pollutants and ammoniacal nitrogen. CONSTITUTION: An advanced drinking water treatment apparatus includes a settling bath(10), a first biofilm filtering bath(20), and a second biofilm filtering bath(30). The settling bath removes soil or suspended materials from feed water. The first biofilm filtering bath pretreats pollutants from effluent which is transferred from the settling bath. The second biofilm filtering bath removes remaining pollutants from effluent from the first biofilm filtering bath. Filtering bath parts in the biofilm filtering baths are filled with zeocarbon.
