PURPOSE: A magnetite-Ag core-shell nanoparticle and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to modify the surface of a magnetic metal nanoparticle into a thiol group and to coat the surface of the magnetic metal nanoparticle with Ag using the reduction reaction of silver nitrate, thereby improving the self-dispersing stability of the magnetic metal nanoparticle with a simple process. CONSTITUTION: A magnetite-Ag core-shell nanoparticle is such that a magnetic metal nanoparticle selected form a group of Fe3O4, Fe2O3, CoFe2O4, MnFe2O4, CoPt, and FePt having a diameter of 50 to 500 nm is coated with Ag nanoparticle having a diameter of 10 to 30 nm. A manufacturing method of the magnetite-Ag core-shell nanoparticle includes: a step(a) of dispersing the magnetic metal nanoparticles into an ethanol-water mixed solvent; a step(b) of adding a coupling agent to the surface of the magnetic metal nanoparticle in order to modify the magnetic metal nanoparticle into a thiol group; a step(c) of adding and dispersing a colloidal solution of the magnetic metal nanoparticles in a solution of a stabilizer mixed with a reducing agent; and a step(d) of adding and stirring silver nitrate in the colloidal solution.
