PURPOSE: A method for producing bioethanol by effectively saccharifying agar from red algae is provided to reduce toxicity and contaminants without excessive decomposition of AHG, and to establish an economic process for producing biofuel. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing bioethanol comprises: a step of treating an agar polymer with 5.5-54.7% acetic acid and liquefying for 1-5 hours; a step of saccharifying the liquefied agar polymer with agarase and alpha-neoagarobiose hydrolase; and a step of fermenting the saccharified product using a fermentation strain. The agarase and the alpha-neoagarobiose hydrolase are individually selected from the group consisting of Aga16B (EMBL id: ABD80437), DagA (EMBL id: CAB61795), Aga50D (EMBL id: ADB81904), and NABH (EMBL id: ABD81917).
