PURPOSE: A viewing-angle control liquid crystal display device is provided to freely perform switching between modes by configuring a second panel unit capable of implementing a narrow viewing-angle in an upper part of a first panel unit capable of implementing a wide viewing-angle mode using birefringence of a blue-phase mode liquid crystal.;CONSTITUTION: When an electric field is supplied to a blue-phase mode liquid crystal(215) of a second panel unit(120), a grid structure in which DTS(Double Twist Cylinders)(211) of the blue-phase mode liquid crystal are arranged is distorted and birefringence of the electric field direction is generated. Light parallel with the major axis of the blue-phase mode liquid crystal of a liquid crystal layer(200) of incident light from a first panel unit(110) is transmitted. Simultaneously, the light incident oblique to the major axis is phase-delayed.
