DEVICE FOR COCHLEAR IMPLANTS HAVING A SENSOR AND ELECTRODES WHICH TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE SIGNALS TO AND FROM AN AMPLIFIER OR A SPEECH PROCESSOR BY DETECTING A VIBRATION OF SOUND AND STIMULATE AN AUDITORY NERVE
PURPOSE: A device for cochlear implants having a sensor and electrodes is provided to receive a vibration of sound from the basilar membrane of a cochlea, thereby operating without a separate microphone outside of a body.;CONSTITUTION: A device for cochlear implants having a sensor and electrodes has a tube (10) shape and includes an embedded sensor unit (20) and an embedded electrode unit (30). The tube is inserted into scala tympani and one side of the tube touches the basilar membrane of a cochlea. The sensor unit which is embedded in the tube converts a vibration of sound which is detected from the cochlea into an electrical signal and transmits the signal to an amplifier or a speech processor. A plurality of electrodes which is embedded in the tube receives a signal processed by the amplifier or the speech processor and stimulates an auditory nerve.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
