PURPOSE: Washing apparatus and a method for ginger are provided to reduce the working time for washing the ginger, and to wash vegetables without damaging. CONSTITUTION: A high-pressure spraying unit sprays high-pressure water to washing objects by the progressive direction of the washing objects. A roll brush (16) for washing the inside is installed along the longitudinal direction. A roll brush (18) for washing the outside is located on the outside by the roll brush for washing the inside. A brush (20) for preventing the separation of the washing objects is located on the upper side of the roll brush for washing the outside. A supporting member (26) includes a first supporting piece (26A) supporting the rotation axis of the roll brush for washing the inside, and a second supporting piece (26B) supporting the rotation axis of the roll brush for washing the outside. A supporting piece (28) supporting the rotation axis of the roll brush for washing the outside is installed on a front horizontal frame (14B) and a rear horizontal frame (14C).
