PURPOSE: A system and method for handling carbon dioxide are provided to maximally control evaporative gas generated when carbon dioxide is initially transferred and selectively adsorb the carbon dioxide from the generated evaporative gas.;CONSTITUTION: A system (100) for handling carbon dioxide comprises a carbon dioxide storage tank (110), a carbon dioxide supply line (111), a carbon dioxide injection line (121), a pressure pump (125), a vaporizing device (127), a first heating device (129), a first carbon dioxide recovery line (131), and a first heat exchanger. The carbon dioxide storage tank stores liquid carbon dioxide supplied from a temporary carbon dioxide storage (130) therein. The carbon dioxide supply line is extended to the inner top of the carbon dioxide storage tank. The carbon dioxide injection line is extended to a carbon dioxide storage (150). The pressure pump, the vaporizing device, and the first heating device are installed in the carbon dioxide injection line. The first carbon dioxide recovery line is branched from the center of the carbon dioxide injection line and is connected to the carbon dioxide storage tank.
