The present invention relates to an immobilization carrier for methanotrophs, which selectively grows methanotrophs only with high proliferation rate; a biofilter containing methanotrophs immobilized on the carrier; a biocover containing methanotrophs immobilized on the carrier; a method for removing methane using the biofilter or the biocover; a medium for culturing methanotrophs, which selectively grows methanotrophs only with high proliferation rate; and a method for culturing methanotrophs using the medium. The immobilization carrier is capable of selectively culturing methanotrophs with high growth rate and enhances methane removal efficiency and capacity, thereby being used for developing a biofilter for removing odor or methane.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
