PURPOSE: A constructed wetland for the reduction of greenhouse gases using sphagnum and swamp plants, and a construction method thereof are provided to increase the productivity of the sphagnum and swamp plants, to maximize the fixing ability of carbon by reducing the degradability, and to facilitate mass production with an affordable cost by replacing the expensive peat mosses. CONSTITUTION: A construction method of a constructed wetland for the reduction of greenhouse gases comprises the following steps: a first step of building a puddle in a subject area(110) for a wetland construction and forming a waterproof layer(120) within the puddle; a second step of forming a growth base material layer(130) for swamp plants on the waterproof layer; a third step of creating a subject area(140) for a habitat of sphagnum in a predetermined portion of the growth base material layer; and a fourth step of implanting the swamp plants(161) and the sphagnum(151) on the growth base material layer for the swamp plants and the subject area for a habitat of the sphagnum. In the first step, the waterproof layer is formed using mud or bentonite all over the inside of the puddle. The growth base material layer for swamp plants is formed by mixing sand and bed soil at 1:0.24-4 in a volume ratio.
