Diagnosis apparatus of the open-circuit fault in 3-phase AC/DC PWM converter and method thereof

PURPOSE: An open circuit malfunction diagnosing device of a three-phase AC/DC PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) convertor and a method thereof are provided to accurately detect a phase in which malfunction occurs in the operation of a system. CONSTITUTION: A current converting unit(100) converts a 3-phase current value into a 2-phase rest frame current value. A malfunction diagnosing unit(200) monitors changes of a current vector position angle. The malfunction diagnosing unit detects the malfunction of an open circuit and a phase in which the malfunction occurs. The changes of the current vector position angle are obtained from the converted 2-phase rest frame current value. [Reference numerals] (200) Malfunction diagnosing unit
