METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPTIMIZING FORWARD ERROR CORRECTION OF MULTIMEDIA STREAMING OVER WIRELESS NETWORKS

Loss of packets in a communication system may be minimal at best by adapting a set of error correction (EC) parameters in response to the calculated probability of packet loss. The calculated probability is obtained from the derived algorithm is applied to a set of communication parameters. Bernoulli algorithms of communication systems is derived from the distribution of the traffic model and constant bit rate (CBR) traffic model. The state model is used - call lapse in order to derive an extremely efficient algorithm for calculating the approximation of the probability of packet loss. Alternative applications for the algorithms is also disclosed.
