PURPOSE: A binder composition for electrode is provided to increase the electrochemical characteristic in the operation and storage of batteries at high temperatures dramatically by improving thermal characteristic and stability inside the electrode. CONSTITUTION: A binder composition for electrode is a copolymer having a unit of the following chemical formula1 and 2. The binder composition comprises: polyamide formed by polymerization of anhydride and disocynate; non-aqueous polymer; and a solvent. The mixing ratio of the polyamide and the non-aqueous polymer is 5-25:75-95. The measure of the chemical formula 1 and 2 is the mole fraction and the mole fraction ratio between the chemical formula 1 and 2 is 0.5-0.99:0.01-0.5. R1-R3 is hydrogen or (C1-6) alkyl independently of each other. A lithium secondary battery comprises the binder composition for electrode.
