The system (1) has pneumatic conveyor (2) connected with bulk material feed device (3) and conveying gas feed device (4). The heat exchanger section (10) of heat exchange devices (8,9) is provided with fluid inlet (11) and fluid outlet (12) for heat transfer fluid. The conveyor and heat exchange device are arranged such that bulk material is conveyed in direction of flow of conveying gas through heat exchanger section. The bulk material flow (BF) is absolutely greater in flow direction of feed gas as bulk material stream (BG) against flow direction of conveying gas. An independent claim is included for method for operating heat exchanger system.
