The method involves detecting application force generated by a brake actuator and a direct current motor by a measured variable as an actual value during actuating an electric parking brake. A hydraulic boosting brake pressure corresponding to a preset boosting brake pressure target value is applied to the actuator and the motor if the actual value is smaller than a target value representing a force target value. A tension adjustment function is performed by a parking brake function for adjusting tension of the actuator and the motor to achieve the preset application force.
