The system (1) has a feed pump (15) e.g. suction-throttled pump (35), for supplying a supply pressure circuit (S), which is designed as a constant pressure system. The feed pump is operated in an open loop, and sucks pressure from a container (7). The feed pump delivers the pressure into a delivery line (17). The suction-throttled pump changes the delivered pressure with a volumetric flow limiting device (36) controlling a suction volume. The volumetric flow limiting device is controlled depending on a return volumetric flow from the supply pressure circuit to the container. The volumetric flow limiting device is designed as variable suction throttle device (37).
