The device (1) has a sensor measuring information i.e. density and homogeneity, of fog walls or fog clouds, and a thermal imaging device (5) representing the information. The sensor and imaging device are connected with a computer (3), where algorithms for analysis of effectiveness of the fog walls or fog clouds are stored in the computer. The fog walls or fog clouds are stabilized or expanded by releasing a fog generating unit from a launcher (2) during evaluation of the information in the computer. An UV sensor is connected with the computer. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing multi-spectral fog walls and/or fog clouds for protection.
