The cylinder (1) has slave cylinder housing (2) including a longitudinal bore hole (21) for receiving a transmission input shaft and a concentric pressure chamber (22) that is arranged at the bore hole. An annular piston (3) is displaceably fed into the chamber, which operates clutch release bearing at an end that faces away from the chamber. The piston is pre-tensioned over a preload spring (5) opposite to the housing. The spring is arranged between the piston and an inner wall (23) of the housing, where the wall limits the bore hole and is arranged in axial direction above the chamber.
