The circuit board depositor (1) has a carriage (3) moved to a frame (4) horizontally between two positions. A circuit board (6a) is delivered to a machine for processing in the latter position. The carriage is pivoted from the former position into a third position (B-III) and finally into the former position, around an axis of rotation (20), for receiving the circuit board from circuit board storage (5). The rotational axis is aligned horizontally and transversely to a horizontal direction of travel. The circuit board (6a), in the third position, is removed from a circuit board holding unit (2) of the circuit board storage (5).
