Alloy, preferably aluminum casting alloy comprises 5-12, preferably 8-11.5 wt.% of silicon, 0.01-3, preferably 0.31-2 wt.% of zinc, 0.01-0.3, preferably 0.05-0.25 wt.% of iron, copper and magnesium in a ratio of 0.1-0.8, 10-300, preferably 50-200 wt.ppm of strontium, 20-250 wt.ppm of sodium and 20-350 wt.ppm of antimony and balance of aluminum, where the amount of impurities is 0.4-0.05 wt.%. An independent claim is included for producing a cast component using the alloy, where the cast component after casting under goes a T6/T7-heat treatment.
