The controller (18) has water consumption-ended apparatuses (12) generating a control signal (15) i.e. electric signal, to be supplied, where the control signal is utilized from the controller to decrease a heating power of a water heater (7). The control signal is provided as logical information in a network and transmitted by a radio, and other controller is designed as a component of the water heater and switches off the supply of the water heater. The former controller includes a program-controlled microprocessor. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a controller.
