The method involves forming a downward open chamber (5) in a lower base (1) of a watercraft along a direction of standing walls (7). Two different water level measurements are performed in front and rear portions of the downward open chamber. The liquid level in a trim container (12) is controlled based on comparison of the measurement signals, so that inclination of watercraft is controlled about a pitch axis. Underwater wings are mounted on watercraft automatically to control inclination of watercraft about pitch axis. An independent claim is included for an arrangement for reducing traction resistance of watercraft.
