The transition unit (6) has a flexible connecting cable for electronically connecting lines (8) incoming from a stationary carrier with lines (10) outgoing to a movable carrier. Control units (12) are provided between the incoming lines and the connecting cable. The incoming lines and the outgoing lines are designed as coaxial cables and optical fibers for current and voltage supply of the control units, and for signal transmission. An internal current and voltage source (13) supplies the control units via the lines. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an end terminal of a movable carrier.
