The test rig (10) is provided with clutch plates held on disk carriers (14,16), where a drive (24) is provided by which the former disk carrier is rotated relative to the latter disk carrier about a rotation axis. An adjusting device is provided by which an air gap between the clutch plates is variably adjusted. The adjustment device is electronically actuated. The adjusting device comprises an adjusting element (21). The air gap is adjustable by adjusting the adjusting element in the axial direction. An independent claim is included for a method for testing a multi-disk clutch having two coaxially arranged disk carriers.
