The emergency exit opening has a disk (40) and a shattering device (30) for controlled shattering of a disk. The shattering device has a housing (50) with a propellant (80) and a bolt (70) for shattering the disk displaced by the propellant. The housing lies flat at the disk and is firmly connected with the disk. A wall surface (60) of the housing has an opening (100) for a passage of the bolt. The wall surface rests on the disk. An independent claim is included for a method for releasing a shattering device of an emergency exit opening.
