The V belt (1) comprises a base portion that is provided with a wedge rib (4). Several projections (5) and/or recesses (6) are spaced apart in longitudinal direction of the belt main portion. A belt wheel is intervened in the recesses and projections. The intervals between the projections and recesses are not identical.
