The kit has a foam sheet (1) made of a closed cellular foam material e.g. thermoplastic elastomer and ethylene propylene diene monomer, and intake openings (5) to be sectioned. Strain hardness of the foam material is reduced by dividing the foam material into the foam sheet between the intake openings. Surface density of the recesses decreases toward an edge of the foam sheet. Narrow sides of the foam sheet are provided free from partings, where rear side of the foam sheet is laminated. A double sided-adhesive band (3) fastens the foam sheet to a vacuum gripper. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a vacuum gripper kit.
