The method involves fixingly compressing a breast (10) in a tomosynthesis device (2). A three-dimensional (3D) image, which contains a lesion (14), of the breast is produced by the tomosynthesis device. A 3D-outline, which minimally circumscribes the lesion, is determined based on the 3D-image. A stretch (22), which is limited by the 3D-outline, with a maximum length (S) is determined. A guide line (24) is selected as an extension of the stretch. A position (L) of the guide line is determined in a coordination system (26) associated to the breast.
