The unloading assistance device (1) has a sensor device (2) for detecting a vertical distance between a support surface (13) and the load (L1). A control device connected to the sensor device and a lifting actuator (6) of a lifting device (3) controls the lifting actuator in response to the detected distance such that the load is suppressible in a predetermined height position on the support surface. An independent claim is included for method for supporting unloading process of load.
