The assembly has a rear light (2) comprising a fixing unit i.e. hook (11), co-operating with a complementary fixing unit i.e. bridge shaped fastener (12), by conjugation of forms, where the complementary fixing unit is placed close to an upper edge (1b) of a side part of a rear bumper (1) to establish a direct mechanical connection between the rear light and the rear bumper. The fixing unit cooperates with the complementary fixing unit by fitment in a direction (F) parallel to a horizontal direction (X) of a motor vehicle when the rear bumper is assembled on the motor vehicle. The fixing unit and the complementary fixing unit are made of single plastic piece.
