The method involves continuously measuring intensity of current flowing in a battery and temperature of the battery (100). The intensity of current and the battery temperature are stored (102) in a usage memory (MU). An indication of health status of the battery after a predetermined utilization period of the vehicle for a predetermined property of the battery, is provided (106) to a user of the vehicle, where the indication is based on the stored values of the intensity and the temperature, and from a ageing prediction model (MV) of the battery installed within the vehicle.
