Failure detection method of a 2-stage servovalve, the movable power unit of which is connected to the rotor of the torque motor of the driving stage by a mechanical return. A malfunction signal is generated in response to the detection of an abutment of the rotor of the torque motor. The invention also comprises a servovalve provided with means for implementing such a method.
