The system has a server (1) including a processor (12) for selecting upgraded data (104) in response to reception of status data (101) and position data (102). A driving assistance apparatus includes a geolocation unit (22) and a communication unit (21) and sends the status data and the position data drawn by the geolocation unit to the server. The server is arranged, in response with reception of status data and the position data, to call the processor with the status and the position data, and to send the selected upgraded data as resulting data to the apparatus. An independent claim is also included for a method for upgrading a driving assistance apparatus.
