The device (20) has a solidarization material (22) that is cast on a jaw (21). The jaw is fixed at a testing machine (1), where the device is arranged to fix a part of a test piece (30) with the jaw by the solidarization material. The jaw comprises a cavity, where the solidarization material is located into an interior of the cavity. The jaw is provided with a fixing unit of the solidarization material, where melting point of the solidarization material is less than that of the jaw. The solidarization material is metal such as an alloy of bismuth and tin. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing a test piece on a jaw.
