The method comprises subjecting water to be disinfected to an UV radiation emitted from UV lamps (1.1-1.6). Each lamp functions under its own power that is different from the other lamps, and the power is given so that the lamp emits the UV radiation whose intensity corresponds to a fixed set point. The lamps comprise loops for power regulation combined with UV sensors (4.1-4.6) for adjusting a power supply of the lamps to obtain a value of set desired intensity. The lamps are fed through ballasts whose load characteristics are modified by output signals of the loops in a direction. The method comprises subjecting water to be disinfected to an UV radiation emitted from UV lamps (1.1-1.6). Each lamp functions under its own power that is different from the other lamps, and the power is given so that the lamp emits the UV radiation whose intensity corresponds to a fixed set point. The lamps comprise loops for power regulation combined with UV sensors (4.1-4.6) for adjusting a power supply of the lamps to obtain a value of set desired intensity.
