A method for creating a virtual hub for a community of users with common interests to interact in over a network comprises: data mining multiple topical interests from a set of input sources queried over the network to determining common shared interests; computing a measure representing a prominence of the topical interests, selecting the most common interest, i.e. the one with the highest favourable rating determining people who are interested in this topic or members with the same interest using an interest measure metric score for users; and instantiating creating a hub, message board, mailing list, social network site or website on the world wide web or network for interested parties. Content for inclusion in the hub may be selected automatically from user posts, recommendations, likes, favourites or content. Content may be added by users or interested parties and access to the hub may be controlled by its user base.
