PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscoelastic fluid simulation method which achieves both high convergence and low computational costs.SOLUTION: The viscoelastic fluid simulation method includes: steps ST2 to ST7 of repeatedly computing a physical quantity including the pressure, velocity, and stress of a viscoelastic fluid by using a first algorithm which computes a differential value of an evaluation point as a computation object on the basis of values of four lattice points adjacent to the evaluation point; and steps ST9 to ST11 of, after the steps ST2 to ST7, repeatedly computing the physical quantity by using a second algorithm which computes a differential value of the evaluation point on the basis of values of 20 lattice points around the evaluation point. Computation using the first algorithm is terminated in the steps ST2 to ST7 when a divergent state is determined on the basis of residuals Ror it is determined that computation of the physical quantity using the first algorithm has been executed a prescribed number of or more times, and a calculated value for the least residual out of a plurality of results from computation using the first algorithm is taken as an initial value to start computation using the second algorithm.
