PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dog poop pickup tool that facilitates collection and processing of poop with simple operation.SOLUTION: With a large projection amount of the proximal end 4b of an operation member 4 from the base end 2b of a handle 2, a collection bag 3 closes and, with a small projection amount of the same, the collection bag 3 opens. Such closing/opening operation can be done with one hand, from the state in which a dog walker holds the base end 2b of the handle 2 with one hand, in a manner pulling the handle 2 while holding with the body the proximal end 4b of the operation member 4 projecting from the base end 2b of the handle 2. An engaging member 9 is provided for the purpose of keeping the collection bag 3 open. A catch 9a of the engaging member 9 can lock an engaging ring 4c attached to the operation member 4. A release member 10 is also provided in the operation member 4 so as to release this locked state. The release member 10 can remove the catch 9a from the engaging ring 4c by moving to the left in the illustration.
