PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of appropriately calibrating a wire rope inspection device.;SOLUTION: The wire rope inspection device has a camera 2 and a light source 3. First, means for making a light from the light source 3 pass or reflect in parallel with a plurality of wire ropes 1 (such as open holes 8) are disposed in a line between the wire ropes 1. With the means disposed in a line between each ropes of the wire ropes 1, a light is radiated from the light source 3, and the light passing through the means or the light reflected by the means is photographed with the camera 2.
