PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which supports evaluation about performance of a storage system.SOLUTION: A performance evaluation support program causes a computer to execute processing of: acquiring respective configurations of a plurality of memory groups which are included in a storage system and are different from one another in response performance for requests including at least either of a readout request and a write request, and information relating to a maximum response time for requests to each of the memory groups; calculating, for each of the memory groups, a maximum request issuance frequency which is a request issuance frequency per unit time, which makes the maximum response time of the response time; calculating, for each of the memory groups, a cumulative value of the number of requests from a Zipf distribution if request issuance frequencies arranged in the frequency order, which are frequencies in request issuance to unit capacities in the plurality of memories, and probabilities of the request issuance frequencies match the Zipf distribution; and using maximum request issuance frequencies and cumulative values of request issuance to generate an evaluation reference value about performance of the memory groups.
