PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data analysis method capable of accurately and simply determining prognosis of a cancer patient who underwent an excision operation of an organ or a tissue affected by cancer.SOLUTION: A data analysis method of determining prognosis after an excision operation of cancer comprises: a process of measuring an expression quantity of an mRNA transcriptional product of an RPTOR gene in a cancer tissue sample collected from a cancer patient; a process of measuring an expression quantity of an mRNA transcriptional product of an RICTOR gene in the cancer tissue sample; a process of calculating an expression quantity ratio obtained by dividing the expression quantity of mRNA transcriptional product of the RICTOR gene by the mRNA transcriptional product of the RPTOR gene; and a process of comparing the expression quantity ratio with a reference that recurrence or metastasis of cancer in the cancer patient is difficult to occur if the ratio is lower than a predetermined reference value.
