TURNOVER PREVENTION DEVICE FOR FURNITURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously materialize both compactization of a width-direction dimension when shipping a product and an inherent function of the product of stabilizing furniture.SOLUTION: A turnover prevention device for furniture is used in a state that the turnover prevention device is interposed between a ceiling of a room and a top plate of the furniture in a stretching state. The turnover prevention device 1 includes: a strut 2 having a vertically telescopic inner/outer double-cylinder structure; an operation member 3 capable of changing over between an unlock state allowing the telescopic motion of the strut 2 and a lock state of restricting the retraction of the strut 2; and abutment members 4, 5 respectively installed to the upper end and the lower end of the strut 2. Each abutment member 4, 5 has: a central member 16 positioned in a central part in the right-and-left direction; and a pair of right and left expansion members 17 mounted to the central member 16 such that the expansion members 17 can come out/in, in the right-and-left direction, and expanding an abutment width of the abutment member 16 in a stretching state to the outside in the right-and-left direction.
