PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photorefractive material composition which can give a photorefractive base material having high transmissivity, and excellent diffraction response speed and diffraction efficiency.;SOLUTION: A photorefractive material composition contains a nonlinear optical dye, a non-photoconductive transparent resin, and a plasticizer. In the photorefractive material composition, it is preferable that the content of the nonlinear optical dye is 10-40 wt.%, the content of the transparent resin is 20-85 wt.%, and the content of the plasticizer is 0.01-41 wt.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
