PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, or the like of screening a metal stress inhibitor or a mental stress reinforcing substance of mammals utilizing a new metal stress biomarker.;SOLUTION: At least one kind of three kinds of proteins, namely serum amyloid P, serum amyloid A1, and haptoglobin chain in blood, plasma, or serum is quantitated, where the blood, plasma, or serum originates in mammals to which mental stress is applied and a substance to be inspected has been medicated from the time before the mental stress is applied to the time during the mental stress is being applied.
