Antibacterial ceramic products , ceramic surface treatment agent , and a manufacturing method of antibacterial ceramic products

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antibacterial ceramic product which, even when an antibacterial metal is used in smaller quantities, can ensure satisfactory antibacterial properties because of high utilization efficiency of the antibacterial metal; a ceramic surface treating agent usable for manufacturing the antibacterial ceramic product; and a method for manufacturing an antibacterial ceramic product using the ceramic surface treating agent.;SOLUTION: The antibacterial ceramic product has, on the surface, metal nanoparticles containing at least silver and having an average particle diameter of ≤200 nm. The ceramic surface treating agent is prepared by colloidally dispersing, in a dispersion medium, metal nanoparticles having a 90% cumulative diameter D₉₀ of particle size distribution of ≤150 nm. The manufacturing method includes applying the ceramic surface treating agent onto the surface of a ceramic product and firing the ceramic product at 800-1,600°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
